Jolisa Rena was born and raised in California. At a young age, she knew she wanted to work in the entertainment industry. While attending the University of California Riverside to major in Psychology, She discovered she had a passion for makeup artistry. She studied photos and online tutorials, and began to put her brushes to use.

 

Many would assume that she attended a Makeup school to sharpen her skills, however she developed her skills by trial and error and realized her hands were blessed with a God given talent. Upon graduating from college, she decided to pursue her dream career as a makeup artist. She persistently applied to various cosmetic companies, and after 2 years landed a job at MAC Cosmetics. While working there, she learned new tricks of the artistry, obtained a certificate of makeup and advanced her career.

 

In 2011, she traveled to Los Angeles to assist various makeup artists, and to work with various photographers to build her portfolio. With much dedication and hard work, it wasn't long before she created a name for herself. Shannon Pezzetta (Makeup artist for Jennifer Hudson) became a mentor for her, and it was not long before she put everything she learned to work. She worked on sets with Pharrel Williams, 2 Chainz, Kevin Hart, NEYO, The Game, and Ray J just to name a few. Some of her clients have included celebrity interior designer, Nikki Chu, rapper Dej Loaf,  singer Shanice Wilson, Rebecca Crews, Lil Kim, Amber Rose, Blacchyna, members of Xscape, and actress Raven Goodwin. She has also done makeup for many television shows, music videos, commercials, magazines and a movie. Currently, Jolisa has been the personal makeup artist for Blacchyna. Her work was recently seen in the hit E! TV show Rob & Chyna, in ELLE magazine and also the cover of PEOPLE Magazine. 

 

Jolisa hopes that her artistry influences women to love themselves first despite the makeup. Her desire is to touch the lives of young women while making them feel beautiful. Jolisa plans to walk by faith and continue her career as a traveling artist while building her clientele to service celebrity clients.
